The LCPS Foundation hosts annual “Care Kits for Kids” Personal Hygiene Drive

The Las Cruces Public Schools Foundation will be hosting the annual “Care Kits for Kids” personal hygiene donation drive for high school students at LCPS.

Part of the role of the LCPS Foundation is to help provide students with what they need to be better prepared for their school day. The goal is to see students thrive, while building strong peer relationships, and having an overall positive school experience. For many students, this is not possible because they cannot afford the items necessary to take care of their physical hygiene needs.

To help these students, the LCPS Foundation is seeking donations from the community for personal hygiene products. To make this happen, the LCPS Foundation is teaming up with Three Crosses Regional Hospital, MountainView Regional Medical Center, and Memorial Medical Center, to host the annual “Care Kits for Kids” personal hygiene drive.

The LCPS Foundation will be collecting shampoo/conditioner, body wash, soap, lotion, deodorant, oral care products, feminine hygiene products, socks, underwear, and laundry detergent (pods or less than 16 oz).

“Care Kits for Kids” will be happening from Oct. 16 – Nov. 4. Donations can be dropped off at any local hospital or at the Dr. Karen M. Trujillo Administration Complex, located at 505 S. Main St. Suite 249.

You can also drop off donations at any Las Cruces Walmart Supercenter on November 4, from 9:00a.m. – 1:00p.m.

Monetary donations can be made on the LCPS Foundation website at lcpsf.org or by texting CareKits4Kids to 44321. Monetary donations will be used to purchase basic kits at $25.

Once the collection drive is over, the care kits will be readily available to students at each high school in the district.
