LCPS seeks calendar feedback

The Las Cruces Public Schools Calendar Committee, charged with developing options for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year, would like parents, educators and LCPS stakeholders to provide feedback before finalizing draft calendars to present to the LCPS Board of Education.

Using a survey, the committee hopes to learn what is most important to parents when it comes to the school calendar. Questions include, but are not limited to, what day of the week is ideal to start the school year, how long should intersession be, and should the district end the school year before or after the Memorial Day holiday.

Participation in the survey is completely confidential. In addition to answering questions, participants will have the opportunity to rank the responses of other respondents. Ranking of responses is not required to submit feedback.

Parents can click here to access the survey. Responses will be gathered until Jan. 23 at 11:59 p.m. The Calendar Committee plans to host a Town Hall meeting Thursday, Feb. 2 at 5:30 p.m. to share results of the survey with LCPS stakeholders. The meeting will take place in the boardroom at the Dr. Karen M. Trujillo Administration Complex, 505 S. Main Street in Las Cruces. The event will be livestreamed for those who cannot attend, and a link will be available on our website, www.lcps.net.
